Unfortunately I was in the hospital during the time of my move to another apartment. My family had to handle all the details after I had hired Caring Transitions. They were very impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of the staff members. I was very appreciative of the understanding of both Mel Briden and Jon Wessels during a difficult time. I would and have recommended Caring Transitions as an affordable option to other commercial movers.

Hi! I just received the box today w/the carnival glass pieces I won in this auction & I have to say there are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe how absolutely outstanding the packing job was of these fragile items! Every single one arrived intact & are just beautiful. Holy crap - it took me a half hour just to get these pieces OUT of the box & then UNWRAPPED because everything was so securely packed & wrapped! you guys are amazing. So from Massachusetts - a HUGE thank you for a seller w/genius packing skills! Someone once left me feedback that my packing was so secure the item could have been dropped from the space station & landed intact. I was so grateful for that feedback so when I get a box filled w/fragile glass & see someone else's extraordinary packing skills I have to express MY thanks & appreciation. Absolutely unbelievable. Can't wait to do business with you again!

I’m sharing my recent experience with Caring Transitions in Charlottesville.
They were hired to pack and move us and then to sell or donate furniture left in the house.
The packing and move went well but the company behaved in an unprofessional manner when it came to selling and donating our furniture.
We were never given an inventory of what they took and how it was disposed of. We asked many times and we didn’t get a response. In fact the lack of communication was one of the problems. We were told certain items were in bad condition and donated; in fact they were in excellent condition, and we never received a donation receipt from either Goodwill or another reselling company.
One item in particular was an outright lie -- we were told the item was not taken from the house, when in fact I was there when the employee took it and put it in his truck. Now I wonder what else was lied about. When I questioned them all I got was stonewalling and outright hostility.
I would not trust this company to do anything for your move.

Irene walked me through what would happen and how it would happen. My husband’s rare and treasured collection of southwestern books and prints were treated carefully. All of the team understood how it was to pack up and prepare to leave our home of forty years. They cared. That’s the word. When they saw me overwhelmed they stopped for the day. I just couldn’t lose my husband and then lose any of our treasures. These guys should be therapists! If you are down sizing then you will do no better than Caring Transitions.
